T-4180 HF DSP Exciter



The T-4180 HF Half-rack Exciter incorporates Digital Signal Processing for greater
linearity and spectral purity. It is intended for use with the PA-5050A 1 kW
Linear Power Amplifier. MTBF is in excess of 15,000 hours.
  • Frequency range: 1.6 to 30 MHz, 1 Hz tuning resolution
  • Internal standard: TXCO, 1 ppm of tuned frequency
  • Synthesizer tuning speed: 2 ms, typical
  • Modulation modes: LSB, USB, ISB (2 channel), CW, FSK, AM, FM,
    FMfax, LSBfc, LSBpc, USBfc, and USBpc
  • In-band intermodulation distortion: 50 dB below either tone of two
    equal signals producing +21 dBm PEP
  • Harmonic outputs: -65 dBc max., all other discrete spurious
    are -80 dBc
  • Automatic level control: 0 to -60 dB level control from single RS-422 externally supplied serial data or 0 to 5 VDC analog control
  • Post selector: 8 suboctave bandpass filters
  • Exciter power output: +27 dBm minimum
  • Remote control via RS-232, RS-422 serial interface bus, or IEEE-488
    parallel interface bus

T-4580 HF DSP Exciter



The T-4580 VHF/UHF Half-rack Exciter provides linearity and flexibility not found in
conventional analog exciters. The Digital Signal Processing and surface mount technology
result in an outstanding MTBF in excess of 9,000 hours over temperature.
  • Internal standard: OXCO, 0.1 ppm of tuned frequency
  • Synthesizer tuning speed: 3 ms, typical
  • Modulation modes: LSB, USB, AM, FM
  • In-band intermodulation distortion: 50 dB below either tone of
    two equal signals producing +21 dBm PEP
  • Harmonic outputs: -40 dBc max., all other discrete spurious
    are -80 dBc
  • Automatic level control: 0 to -50 dB level control from externally
    supplied serial data or 0 to 5 VDC analog control
  • Post selector: 8 suboctave bandpass filters
  • Exciter power output: +27 dBm minimum
  • Remote control via RS-232, RS-422 serial interface bus, or IEEE-488
    parallel interface bus
